I agree with most of this post but I have to say that Number 4 is a broad generalization and shows zero empathy. I used to be a customer service rep and a customer service supervisor. (That's what's out there waiting for you when you don't go straight to college out of HS) What I found was that the reps were underpaid and burned out. Upper mgmt didn't appreciate them or train them properly and so you had alot of angry pissed off reps and some really goods reps picking up the slack. I think the probrlem is that there is very little empathy in the world today. People have this entitlement complex and it is so not cute. I think that is true of customer service reps, rude ass customers, loud profane teens in the mall and all the rest of us on any given day.

I like and agree with this post. I will say though that you can find a few love songs, look at Maxwell's CD, and although Baby by me is 99.9% about sex there is one really sweet lines in the song when he says "I need you to give me reason to breathe." It was almost like he stole a line from someone else's really sweet and emotionally expressive poetry right there. Also, T-mobile has the best customer service that I've had to deal with; and I think when people stopped whipping their kids they just completely stopped correcting their wrong behavior. I'm 27 & I was afraid of doing wrong stuff because of the possibility that an adult might see it or one of my snitch as$ peers might tell on me. Bad kids = HORRIBLE parents.

I'm 25 and I fully agree with this post. I was raised in a pretty strict (but hilariously fun) household. My family wasn't playin those games.

I'm 35 years young and I totally agree with this post!! I label the youth as the "lost" generation. An "old school" concept that should come back are marriages that last the tests of time, but in today's society that's a pipe dream.

Yeah, "sistah" girl, you are definitely showing your age! But so am I, because I agree with you totally. I mean I couldn't have said it better. No manners, no English, no spelling, no writing, no love; much loud talking, much cursing, much sex, much disrespect, much fear, much violence. I facilitated a youth summit and had the kids write an evaluation of the session. I couldn't even read them, the hand writing was so bad! Makes you wonder what their future is really going to look like. Or will they even have a future. I can't even imagine their lives in 20-30 years. How will they communicate?

On another note - I know I have a family picture in black and white like the one you posted. Did all Black families take that same picture, outside on the lawn in our Sunday best? I had to do a double take to make sure it wasn't my family
